Watch: Joy Reid Lies, Calls Inflation Nothing More than a GOP Buzzword

Joy Reid, one of those biased MSNBC hacks Bill Maher was likely referring to in his comments about media bias, never lets the truth or reasonableness get in the way of a good story, as was recently seen in her comments on CRT and “missing white woman syndrome.”

But one of her newest segments might have outdone those past ones. In it, she claims that the massive inflation Americans are having to struggle with right now is nothing more than a “GOP buzzword.” Watch her make a fool of herself here:

In the video, for those that can’t bear to watch, MSNBC’s Joy Reid dismisses the economic pain that Americans are facing right now amid ever-rising inflation. She calls it, as News Busters reports, “a “buzzword bandwagon” by Republicans who “want you to believe the economy isn’t doing well” when it’s “not bad” and people “are also spending a record amount of money.

And what does she use to back up her absurd assertion? Nothing more than a tweet from White House Chief of Staff and Twitter resident Ron Klain. To Joy Reid, a White House apparatchik’s Twitter feed is better evidence than numerous reports, including the government’s own CPI report, that detail the massive inflation present in America right now.

In the video, she also says Republicans jump on the inflation buzzword bandwagon, ignoring all the signs of America’s economic comeback. Senator Elizabeth Warren joins me next with the truth about our economy.”

She then adds Republicans want you to believe the economy isn’t doing well, that’s terrible. But, in reality, unemployment is at its lowest point since before the pandemic began” and, absurdly, declares that despite the fact that [p]rices are higher, that’s fine because Americans are also spending a record amount of money that was pent up during the pandemic, which economics 101 will tell you drives prices up, aka inflation.”

So, according to Reid, because we have to spend more on goods due to inflation and are doing so, inflation isn’t a problem. Apparently, if we all had to spend Zimbabwean trillion dollar notes to buy milk, that would be fine too because we’d be spending “a record amount of money.”

But Reid doesn’t end it with that ridiculous, confusing contention. She goes on to blame consumers for lacking confidence in the economy:

[T]hat conflict between how much we want to spend and what we can get into our hands quickly is contributing to how pessimistic many Americans feel about the economy. Consumer confidence is its lowest in a decade[.]

As I reported recently, Rasmussen polls found that consumer confidence is at a multi-decade low, thanks largely to Bidenflation. In fact, consumer confidence fell about 7% in the last month alone! Perhaps that’s because of those higher prices that Reid thinks are a good thing.

Still, Reid doesn’t stop with the ridiculous train of comments. After blaming the consumer for not being confident of the economy’s strength in an inflationary environment, she goes on to say “So — so, the economy isn’t bad. It’s just that people are mad because everything is late and things cost a little bit more.” Apparently, goods arriving later than they should and costing more isn’t reflective of a bad economy. The average person paying more and more each time they go to the grocery store, or who’s been waiting on a car for months, would probably disagree.

Still, Reid can’t bring herself to accept reality, Instead, she presents a false reality where Republicans are only worried about inflation because they want power: “[T]he reality is as you’ve said, you know, what they say has nothing to do with reality because they want to get back in power[.]”

Elizabeth Warren agreed, adding this while discussing gas prices rising precipitously:

This isn’t about inflation. This is about price gouging for these guys. So I get it. When we see prices go up we’re all concerned, and the Republicans want to come in and just try to hammer on one theme about this economy, but we got to pay attention to the fact that folks like the oil companies say I think it’s just another opportunity to make profits and we need to call them out on that”

So, both are delusionsal. Prices are rising and that’s not reflective of a right-wing conspiracy, as Hillary Clinton might say, but of Biden’s poor governance and serious economic trouble.
