Leftist Actress Slammed for Making Fun of NYPD Funeral

In honor of murdered officer Jason Rivera, the NYPD held a massive parade along New York’s famous 5th avenue. Thousands of officers marched in memory and honor of the one of their own that was gunned down by a thug, with many more New Yorkers turning out in support of and in solidarity with the officers.

Though most New Yorkers were supportive and honored the officers, particularly Officer Rivera, a few leftists went on crazy tirades. One such leftist was actress Susan Sarandon, who posted a picture of the funeral procession with the caption “I’m gonna tell my kids this is what fascism looks like.

Then she added another caption to the photo, this one above it, she said “So, if all these cops weren’t needed for CRIME that day, doesn’t that mean they aren’t needed ANY day?” It was deleted, but you can see an image of the original in this post:

As could be predicted, social media lost it over her tweet.

For example, the National Fraternal Order of Police said “Of all the days for @SusanSarandon to share her true feelings towards police, she picks the day we bury our fallen brother to make such inflammatory & brainless comments. When you spend more time hating on cops than you do your own career, it’s no wonder why you’re a D-list actor.

Similarly, a former Marine said “What a disrespectful thing to tweet about two Officer that were murdered. Why ma’am would you put this garbage out? It’s childish, small & sickening. Shame on you @SusanSarandon

The New York City Police Blevenant Association said “This is what privilege looks like: a wealthy actress, safe in her bubble, mocking heroes & making light of the crisis that cops are battling alongside our communities. NYC is uniting to stop the violence —  @SusanSarandon  is living on a different planet.”

Another pointed out her hypocrisy, given that she attacks the police but has armed guards to protect her massive home:

Yet another took the opportunity to make fun of the actress and her opinion in a hilariously savage tweet:

Sadly, Sarandon wasn’t the only washed-up, far-left actress that used the massive funeral as an opportunity to attack the police. Another, even less known actress, Jacqueline Guzman, said:

“We do not need to shut down most of Lower Manhattan because one cop died for probably doing his job incorrectly. They kill people who are under 22 every single day for no good reason and we don’t shut down the city for them.

Like this is f–—– ridiculous. This is f—– ridiculous. What if somebody is having a heart attack in this area? Nobody can get to them because it’s all blocked off for one f–—– cop.

She was fired more or less immediately, suffering the repercussions of being a vile human being on social media.

Similarly, as the Daily Wire reports, a New York school teacher was called out for attacking the police during the funeral too:

The day after Rivera’s funeral, a Brooklyn high school math teacher triggered fury when he posted an Instagram story with an overhead shot of the thousands of NYPD’s finest outside of St. Patrick’s Cathedral for the funeral, then captioned it, ‘5/30/20: NYPD SUV drives into a crowd of protestors. Ideal conditions for reciprocity.”’

He was apparently referencing a cop car hitting some BLM rioters during the unrest of 2020.

Leftists used the opportunity of the funeral to attack the police. Fortunately, the American public is still winning to call them out and back the blue.
