The House of Representatives just passed legislation that will authorize $858 billion in funding for our national defense, while also including a reversal of the U.S. military’s coronavirus vaccine mandate. This is good news for the armed forces. Part of the reason why they have not been able to meet recruitment figures is due to this mandate, along with the widespread wokeness that is infiltrating the various branches of service.
Legislators approved the final version of the bill to repeal the mandate via the passage of the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act, otherwise known as the annual defense bill.
“The 4,000-page legislation advanced with a solid bipartisan majority, 350-80, which requires the Pentagon to rescind the Covid vaccine mandate for active duty service members within 30 days of its enactment,” the Daily Wire reported.
The new legislation also includes several provisions like a 4.6 percent pay raise for members of the military, strengthening defense strategies using land warfare, air force, and cybersecurity, according to CNN.
“While the bill would remove the vaccine mandate for U.S. troops, it would not reinstate service members who were discharged or had their benefits slashed for refusing to be immunized against COVID,” the report continued. This is the one negative of the legislation. These folks should have never been fired to begin with.
National Security Council Spokesman John Kirby stated on Monday that President Joe Biden, along with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, opposed repealing the Defense Department’s vaccine mandate. Of course they did. This measure allowed the government to have an obscene amount of power and control over services members. It’s hard to give that kind of thing up, you know?
“Secretary Austin’s been very clear that he opposes the repeal of the vaccine mandate, and the president actually concurs with the secretary of defense,” Kirby remarked, saying that Biden “continues to believe that all Americans, including those in the armed forces, should be vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19 … Vaccines are saving lives, including our men and women in uniform.”
Some of the language contained in the bill orders the Pentagon to find the means of paying those who were fired or punished in some way for refusing to take the shots.
On Tuesday evening, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, a California Republican, revealed the Biden administration’s coronavirus vaccine mandate for the military would be brought to an end.
“The end of President Biden’s military COVID vaccine mandate is a victory for our military and for common sense,” McCarthy commented in a statement. “Last week, I told the president directly: it’s time to end the COVID vaccine mandate and rehire our service members.”
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre spoke with the press on Wednesday and revealed that President Biden would “look at the NDAA in its entirety and make his judgment on that” concerning whether or not he would sign the legislation into law.
If he legitimately cares about men and women in uniform and the country’s national security, he will sign the bill and stop being a stubborn old fool. Of course, this requires Biden to have all of his brain cells firing and the chances of that are slim, so it’s anybody’s guess as to what happens next.
