Florida Sheriff: Make Hurricane Looters Look Like “Grated Cheese” If They Break Into Your Home

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd has a certain way with words. Speaking to Fox News recently, the local law chief suggested any looting that takes place in the wake of Hurricane Ian’s devastation to the Florida landscape with regard to private property should be met with fierce and even deadly resistance.

Watch as Sheriff Judd goes beast mode on would-be gangsters with this epic message:

These looters…That’s unacceptable. Absolutely unacceptable.

I would highly suggest that if a looter breaks into your home – comes into your home – while you’re there to steal stuff, that you take your gun and you shoot him. You shoot him so he looks like grated cheese.

Because, you know what? That’s one looter that won’t break into anyone else’s home.

Twitter comments absolutely LOVED this guy’s message. Some said he was based. Some said he dropped his crown. Still others said this is why we love our Florida sheriffs. Perhaps the only disagreement came as one user posited that the looter should look like Swiss cheese instead of grated cheese.

Fair enough.

If this message sounds familiar, that’s because it is. This isn’t the first time Sheriff Judd has issued non-minced words to describe how law-abiding Floridians should respond to crime. At the apex of the violent and destructive George Floyd Riots, Judd said citizens should allow for peaceful protests but draw a firm line on any criminal intent. Tampa Bay’s local Fox affiliate wrote the following in 2020:

“Let there be no misunderstanding, if you come here to riot, to loot, to injure people, we’re going to lock you up in the county jail,” Judd said. “We are going to hunt you down and lock you up if you engage in any criminal conduct.”

He then issued a stern warning for anyone considering looting or breaking into Polk County homes.

“I would tell them, if you value your life, they probably shouldn’t do that in Polk County. Because the people of Polk County like guns, they have guns, I encourage them to own guns, and they’re going to be in their homes tonight with their guns loaded, and if you try to break into their homes to steal, to set fires, I’m highly recommending they blow you back out of the house with their guns. So, leave the community alone,” the sheriff said.

People are fed up with crime across the country, and while no amount of criminal behavior or looting is morally acceptable, it’s a different level of depravity to take advantage of people whose lives have been upended by disaster.

In the case of Hurricane Ian, countless Floridians endured days of rain, winds, and destruction.

While mother nature cannot be controlled – no matter how much corrupt leftists would have us believe – the human element can be somewhat shaped. If people are going to loot, then they should be aware of and face the consequences.
