Yikes: Bruce Willis Sells Rights To “Digital Twin”, Eerie Video Shows Copycat Image Being Used In Television

Earlier this year, Bruce Willis was found out to be suffering from the neurological condition known as aphasia. It’s a disorder known to impact language, as it relates to both speaking and understanding.

That was scary enough, considering one might be fully conscious of the disorder while simultaneously being rendered unable to communicate. However, the latest revelations surrounding Willis are terrifying on a much larger scale.

The Daily Mail reported that Willis had signed over his likeness to – of all people – a Ukrainian-born man whose company specializes in rendering “digital twins” for use in image enhancement and placement. In this case, Deep Cake is an “AI-powered content optimization web platform” is able to take images of Willis and produce highly and scarily realistic visuals that could convince almost anyone the actor was actually on the job.

Here is a 2021 Russian ad featuring “Bruce Willis” while not actually featuring the real Bruce Willis:

The Daily Mail wrote:

In August 2021, Bruce’s twin made his debut by having his face ‘grafted’ on to understudy Konstantin Solovyov for a commercial for Russian telecoms giant MegaFon.

It now only takes engineers ‘three to five days’ to recreate Willis in projects, but his estate has the final sign-off on what’s created.

‘I liked the precision with which my character turned out. It’s a mini-movie in my usual action-comedy genre,’ the star said in a statement on their website.

Willis’ statement continued: ‘For me, it is a great opportunity to go back in time. With the advent of modern technology, even when I was on another continent, I was able to communicate, work and participate in the filming. It’s a very new and interesting experience, and I thank our entire team.’

The Daily Mail suggested that other Hollywood figures such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jim Carrey, and Michelle Pfeiffer all had digital copies of some sort as well.

Now, it’s not as if this technology is suddenly new. Disney’s Rogue One famously used computer-generated imagery of a younger-looking Carrie Fisher to reprise her role as Leia at the end of the movie, as it did with the character of Moff Tarkin.

However, those graphics were BAD and clearly fake. No so fake is the application of Willis’ digital self in the Russian ad. Moreover, it begs the question of how this technology could be, or already is being, used. Are videos of Joe Biden legitimate? If they can do Bruce Willis, it stands to reason they could do almost anyone if they had enough photographs or facial images of the person.
