Chalk this one up to a complete and total, 100% obvious lack of common sense: a woman who is completely covered in tattoos from her head to her toes (just look at the above picture) is upset she can’t get a job. Yes, really.
Melissa Sloan, the tatted up lady, is a self-described tattoo addict that is as covered in tattoos as Hunter’s hard drive was full of embarrassing pictures and she’s complaining that employers won’t give her an opportunity because of how she looks…shocker, who wouldn’t want her at the counter?

What’s perhaps most ridiculous about the whole thing is that though she complained that no one will give her a chance because of the tattoos, she refuses to stop getting them. As you can hear in the video, she, when asked about her inked-up skin, said that she gets about three new prison-style tattoos a week:
“I have three tattoos a week. It’s like when you have a fag or a drink, you get addicted. I can’t stop it now, it’s addictive, for me anyway. I just can’t stop it.
“I carry the [tattoo] gun around with me in the boot, I’ll get one in the car or anywhere. My boyfriend does them, he does my tattoos prison style.”
It was then that she got into the bit about being unable to find a job thanks to being covered in ink, saying:
“I can’t get a job. They won’t have me. I applied for a job cleaning toilets where I live and they won’t have me because of my tattoos.
“The first job I had was cleaning ages ago, cleaning toilets. People have said I have never had a job in my life, I have had one once and it didn’t last long. “But, if someone offered me a job tomorrow I would go and work – I would take that offer.
“I expected this in life, I can’t fit in with people as I like to be me and I’m always going to be myself.
“They don’t have to listen to me. But I’m not going anywhere.”
Perhaps she’s not. But she should get a laser and have her tattoos go elsewhere if she wants to be gainfully employed because even in these modern, anti-beauty times, people have some standards. And being covered in the types of tattoos you’d expect to see a felon have one or two of isn’t a way to make a great impression.
There’s a lesson here, which is why I decided to run the story: contrary to what many people say, looks matter. If you want people to take you seriously and not treat you like a joke, then you need to act like you take yourself seriously and are a normal person.
A good start for that is looking normal and not being covered head to toes in lousy ink, looking straight out of the San Quentin tattoo training parlor. Standards still exist, and so looks matter, whether you want them to or not.
