LOL: Woke Country Performer Isn’t “Comfortable” Attending Awards Show Over Brittany Aldean’s Month-Old Gender Joke

Even for raging wokesters, Maren Morris is setting a new bar for sustained outrage. A full month after the initial “controversy” of a prominent country star’s wife making a declarative statement she was glad her parents didn’t transition her during a tomboy phase, Morris refuses to accept reality and biology.

Instead, she is ramping up her virtue signaling to a new level by suggesting she might boycott an upcoming awards show because she is still “uncomfortable” being in the same venue as someone that thinks girls are, and always will be, girls. Morris’ P.R. went into overdrive by getting Variety her a chance to blather on:

“I’m very honored that my record is nominated. But I don’t know if I feel [at] home there right now. So many people I love will be in that room, and maybe I’ll make a game-time decision and go. But as of right now, I don’t feel comfortable going,” the woke singer said during the course of her interview.

Imagine being so fragile you can’t share a space with someone who has different thoughts than you. If conservatives acted like the petulant, forever-child Morris, we’d never be able to leave or house. Heck, we’d never be able to be in our house, what with Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, ESPN, Disney, and every other online streaming service or network sharing Morris’ rigid, intolerant ideology.

But Morris wasn’t done. She went on to say that “I think there are people in country music that want it to be niche. They don’t want it to expand. They don’t care about it becoming more inclusive. It’s theirs, and everyone else is an other, or woke, or whatever.”

Amazingly, we can agree on one thing. She is woke for holding those ideas.

Louder With Crowder catches up on the story from the beginning. Not that we wanted to rehash this, but here we are:

To recap, Brittany Aldean posted the following video to her Instagram page, commenting on the parents who push their own gender-based ideology on their children.

Morris attacked her for it, claiming “‘It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie.’”

Country star Jason Aldean, Brittany’s husband, snarked about it as he came to her defense. He was dropped by his long-time PR firm as a result.

Now, Morris says she is “uncomfortable” being around her peers. I can’t imagine why.

Besides being a country fan, I’m also a conservative punk rock fan. A lot of the artists I listen to there have a way different political opinion than me. It is what it is. Separate the art from the artist and all that. My only issues are when a) the artist is an insufferable douche about it, and b) the artist sounds like they hate the half the country that disagrees with them just to score woke points. Morris is on the wrong side of history in both those cases.
