That Didn’t Take Long: Biden Declares Pandemic Over, White House Says Not So Fast Joe!

This is just getting embarrassing, isn’t it? Time and again Joe Biden has said something only for the White House to say, ‘not so fast’. Who’s in charge here? Clearly, it’s not who Joe Biden thinks it is. It’s probably not even Dr Jill. Whoever is pulling the strings, interviews, public appearances, and off script question must be the stuff of nightmares, as Joe can’t keep his Dr Scholls out of his mouth.

Last weekend Grumpy Joe gave his first interview in over 200 days to 60 Minutes, and boy was it a doozy! Despite the softballs lobbed at Biden, he still managed to piss off the White House and make them walk back statements. Since Biden has taken office, the White House has walked back more than Michael Jackson at the 1983 Motown 25 performance. (First moonwalk). I can’t believe I have to explain that reference!

What’s Joe’s latest gaffe? He single-handedly ended the pandemic, just like he said he would! Check this out from MSN:

Biden made his remarks during his interview on CBS’ 60 Minutes on Sunday, his first interview with an American TV journalist in over 200 days. When asked about the state of the U.S.’s fight against the pandemic, Biden told CBS correspondent Scott Pelley, “The pandemic is over. We still have a problem with Covid. We’re still doing a lot of work on it. It’s — but the pandemic is over.”

Now, I don’t know what anyone else got from that statement, but I think the President declared the pandemic over on network television. I watched the interview, as much as I could stomach anyway, and Biden didn’t misspeak or misunderstand. He declared it over. Even the 60 Minutes guy was surprised. Ironically Biden went on to challenge anyone who questioned his mental fitness. Comedy gold!

But according to CNN, an administration official told the outlet that “the President’s comments do not mark a change in policy toward the administration’s handling of the virus, and there are no plans to lift the Public Health Emergency.”

Oh snap! Can we declare “no takebacks”? I want to know names. Who is the “official”? Is it an anonymous source? Was it on a postcard? Was it written on a note, wrapped around a rock and thrown into CNN’s window? That’s how they did it back in Scranton in Joe’s day.

Or maybe the President went off script to make himself look like a hero and look strong, meanwhile unwittingly signaling what should be an end to Covid aid since the pandemic is over. Of course the White House is going to walk that back, because declaring the pandemic over and cancelling the emergency status cedes control from the White House.

“Hint: it will never be ‘over.’ they gained too much from lockdowns, mandates, and wealth transfer. They permanently reorganized the country over a virus. You think they would give that up voluntarily? It’s not going away,” tweeted conservative commentator Logan Hall.

Hall is correct. Giving up pandemic emergency status now only undercuts the administration’s ability to declare more Covid restrictions for either the mid-terms or 2024 election. They need mail in voting to win!

We all know the pandemic is over. It’s been over for red states almost since it started, so we don’t need a halfcocked declaration from a president that isn’t sure where his baseball is to know it’s over. It’s just hilarious to see the White House scramble to fix yet another gaffe from Joe Biden. Catch you in another 200 days when old Joe is allowed to interview again!
