Recently, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis sent a few planes to Martha’s Vineyard, the beach playground of America’s liberal elites, with a special surprise from Florida. But the planes weren’t full of orange juice, alligator leather belts and boots, Disney paraphernalia, or any other products one might typically associate with the Sunshine State.
Rather, filling the planes was a healthy helping of illegal immigrants that DeSantis decided might find better accommodations in Martha’s Vineyard, a place full of liberals that theoretically want to help those migrants, rather than the ruby red state of Florida.
As could be expected, many of the residents were, despite their leftie bona fides, more than a bit upset about the new arrivals.
But they weren’t the only ones who lost it after news of DeSantis’ stunt broke and it came out that a few planeloads of illegal immigrants had been introduced to those whose votes and donation dollars helped them into the country. In fact, President Biden, who many conservatives claim has done little to defend the border, attacked the migrant moving tactics of DeSantis and other governors during his remarks at the 45th Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Gala.
Raging about the issue during his speech and accusing those governors of using the illegals as human props, Biden said:
Instead of working with us on solutions, Republicans are playing politics with human beings, using them as props. What they’re doing is simply wrong. It’s un-American. It’s reckless.
And we have a process in place to manage migrants at the border. We’re working to make sure it’s safe and orderly and humane.
Republican officials should not interfere with that process by waging a politi- — these political stunts. It’s long overdue for Senate Republicans to come to the table, provide a pathway for citizenship for DREAMers, those in temporary status, farmworkers, and essential workers.
We need to modernize our laws so businesses can get workers they need and families don’t have to wait decades to be brought back together. It’s time to get it done. (Applause.) That’s why we have to win this off-year election.

DeSantis, for his part, defended the move and took credit for it in a statement released by his office, saying:
“Florida can confirm the two planes with illegal immigrants that arrived in Martha’s Vineyard [Wednesday] were part of the state’s relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations.
“States like Massachusetts, New York, and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as ‘sanctuary states’ and support for the Biden administration’s open border policies.”
So, as Biden rages impotently about DeSantis’ stunts, residents of Martha’s Vineyard have DeSantis to thank for their 50 new friends from the “global south,” as many Democrats like to say.
