A senior Chinese Communist Party official sat at Hunter Biden’s table at a 2013 dinner in Beijing to welcome his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, and Hunter Biden said he would be “happy” to introduce his business associates to him to discuss potential investments. Fox News Digital reviewed and verified Hunter’s emails.
Bulger was the president of Boston-based Thornton Group LLC and business partner of the now-defunct Rosemont Seneca. They jointly launched the investment firm Bohai Capital to form BHR Partners. According to Breitbart News, Chinese business records as of July show Hunter still has a 10 percent ownership stake in BHR Partners.
The Bank of China controls BHR Partner. Ten days after Joe and Hunter flew to China, Hunter signed a $1 billion deal with Bohai, a subsidiary of Bank of China, claimed Fox News.
“It is my understanding that during the trip to Beijing that you made with your father, President Xi hosted a welcome dinner,” Bulger said. “[A]t that dinner, you were seated right next to Mr Tung, therefore J and Andy believe it would be very helpful if you could please send a brief email to Mr Tung laying out that you are a partner and Board Member of BHR and that You would be grateful to Mr Tung if he could meet your local partners to discuss the Fund.”
“Please let me know if you can introduce these two to Mr Tung by email it is very important to our BHR initiative [sic] at this moment,” Bulger emphasized. In response, Hunter said he would be “happy” to accommodate the request, but he couldn’t recall the names of the gentlemen seated next to him.
Apparently, Bulger mentioned in his initial email that President Xi hosted the “welcome dinner” on Dec. 4, 2013, following an earlier meeting between Li Yuanchao and Joe Biden to discuss strengthening U.S. China relations. At the time, a Chinese Embassy press release stated a welcoming ceremony for Joe was held by Vice President Li prior to their meeting at the Great Hall of the People in Tiananmen Square, where CPPCC’s Tung was also present.
Hunter’s communications with Bulger are significant because Hunter’s father, President Joe Biden, was vice president at the time. As revealed in emails found on Hunter’s laptop, Joe Biden has been involved in the family’s business since 2012. It has been claimed seven times by Joe Biden and his staff that he was not involved in the family scheme, but 17 instances prove otherwise.
The CPPCC is “designed to liaise with non-Communist Party members – and ultimately see them work with the CCP to advance its interests,” according to a 2021 report by The Diplomat. In 2008, Tung founded the China-US Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) while serving as vice chairman of the CPPCC.
Polls indicate that most of the public disagrees with the claims made by Joe Biden. According to a September poll, 62% of registered voters think Joe Biden likely consulted with the Biden family and may have benefited from their trade deals.
