Republican gubernatorial nominee in Arizona, recently roasted a journalist who questioned whether Donald Trump was dividing the country over his claims that he won the 2020 election.

The reporter asked, “You say you feel like Joe Biden is dividing the country, but do you feel like Donald Trump is doing the same by falsely telling people he won that election when he lost it?”
Lake responded, “How does that divide the country? Questioning an election where there are obviously problems is dividing the country? Since when can we not ask questions about our elections?”
The notion that Republicans are the ones dividing the country right now is ridiculous!
Especially, after Biden had just given a speech, where he declared MAGA Republicans (yes, all 75 million of us) a threat to the nation.
“As a journalist for many years, I was a journalist after 2016 and I distinctly remember many people just like you asking a lot questions about the 2016 election results. And nobody tried to shut you up. Nobody tried to tell Hillary Clinton to shut up. Nobody tried to Kamala Harris when she was questioning the legitimacy of these electronic voting machines to stop,” she continued.
Lake brings up a huge point!
I recall the Hillary Clinton incessantly claiming the election was stolen by Russia when she lost to Donald Trump by a landslide in 2016.
The fake news also ran stories endlessly claiming there was Russian collusion, however, that was proven false but only after millions of taxpayer dollars spent on investigations.
Kari proclaimed, “We have freedom of speech in this country and you of all people should appreciate that. You’re supposedly a journalist, you should appreciate that. So, I don’t see how asking question about an election where there are many problems is dividing a country. What I do see as dividing a country is shutting people down, censoring people, canceling people, trying to destroy people’s lives when they do have questions.”
Freedom of speech is one of the foundations of our republic and it is necessary for constant debate and discussion over our political issues.
Democrats have had no respect for the first amendment rights of American citizens.
Anybody who even questions the integrity of our elections is vilified and painted as an enemy of democracy.
Biden even attempted to create the dystopian “Ministry of Truth” as if to be the arbiter of what is acceptable to believe and to silence differing opinion.
Thankfully, that was disbanded after warranted backlash.
Kari Lake is a true defender of free speech and we need more leaders like her stepping up to defend the constitution.
This is an era of cancel culture, restrictive gun laws, a lack of privacy, and various other problems.
These issues are a direct threat to the constitutional rights bestowed upon us by our founders that liberals don’t seem to value anymore.
In a time where the left is becoming increasingly radical and hostile toward the conservative way of life, we need to elect strong officials who will take an aggressive stance and fight back for what we believe in.
