Texas Gov. delivers 5 more buses of migrants to NYC, Democrat Mayor NOT HAPPY

The Republican governor of Texas appears to be in a spat with NYC’s Democrat mayor and has sent more migrants to the big blue city via bus. The New York Post reported that five more busloads of migrants from the U.S. – Mexico border sent from Texas, had reached the Big Apple. This comes as Gov. Greg Abbott escalated his feud with the city’s Mayor Eric Adams with a victory lap op-ed.

The new buses are just some of many more that made the trip in the last few months. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has rushed at least 1,000 migrants to New York City since Aug. 5, his office reported. But, the last group is the largest ever to reach the East Coast city in a single day since the start of Abbott’s policy, according to Fox News.

As part of the editorial, Governor Abbott accused Mayor Eric Adams of hypocrisy in relation to his border policy. Allegedly, Mayor Adams declined the invitation from Abbott to the border to take a look at the immigration crisis in person. Abbott declared that the mayor “likes to pat himself on the back for welcoming migrants with open arms to his sanctuary city. That is, until he actually has to follow through on those lofty promises.”

“Adams talked the talk about being a sanctuary city — welcoming illegal immigrants into the Big Apple with warm hospitality,” Abbott wrote. “Talk is cheap. When pressed into fulfilling such ill-considered policies, he wants to condemn anyone who is pressing him to walk the walk.” Those arrivals are part of Abbott’s April plan to deliberately send migrants to Washington, D.C.

An effort first intended to frustrate President Joe Biden as Abbott railed against him on border security. As Democratic mayors from New York City and Washington, D.C. complain about the impact of migrants in their cities in recent months, Abbott has gleefully stoked new feuds, reported Fox News.

Greg Abbott is not the only person supporting the stunt. Several Texas mayors and lawmakers chuckled at the big cities’ complaints, pointing to years and years of handling the crisis by themselves. “Mayor Adams is a hypocrite,” Campaign press secretary for Governor Abbott, Renae Eze, was quoted in a statement to the Texas Tribune as saying. “He represents a self-declared sanctuary city, yet he’s complaining about a few hundred migrants being bused into his city. If the mayor wants a solution to this humanitarian crisis, he should stop complaining and call on President Biden to take immediate action to secure the border.”

In a press conference that followed the arrival of a previous bus of migrants, Adams said “This is horrific when you think about what the governor is doing”. He went on saying that he would take a busload of New Yorkers to Texas to go door-to-door to help Abbott resign for the “good of America.” Later Adams called for more federal funding to handle the influx of migrants into the sanctuary city of New York. To handle the influx of migrants from Texas and Arizona migrants, Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton is asking for $50 million in additional funds for the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s emergency food and shelter program.
