Trump celebrates ‘Great Candidates’ amid primary victories in big message to Democrats

Former President Donald Trump has celebrated “ALL WINS” from his endorsed candidates in primary races. On the former President’s social platform Truth Social, Donald Trump gushed about the wins, as he endorsed a handful of candidates in the 2022 midterm season. Trump wrote: “Looks like a fantastic evening of ALL WINS – Great Candidates!!!” “26 and 0 tonight, turning numerous tight races into big and easy wins. Overall for last 4 years, 98.4% on Endorsements!” Trump added later, as reported by NY Post.

Democratic candidates such as Dan Goldman, who won his New York primary were jokingly endorsed by Trump. Trump wrote in a Truth Social post: “It is my great honor to Strongly Endorse him.” “I do this not because of the fact that he headed up the Impeachment Committee and lost, but because he was honorable, fair, and highly intelligent,” added Trump.

Matt Gaetz, who is a Trump-backed Florida Republican congressman, defeated former FedEx executive Mark Lombardo in a primary, which is a more serious endorsement. Despite Gaetz being under investigation over trafficking allegations regarding a minor, Gaetz somehow came out with a victory, as reported.

The allegations against Gaetz are very serious.  In January this year, the 39-year-old Gaetz, was under investigation for trafficking a 17-year-old, obstructing justice, and violating the Mann Act, which criminalizes the transportation of people across state lines for the purpose of prostitution, legal sources told the outlet. The probe into Gaetz started more than a year and a half ago when his longtime ally Joel Greenberg, a former tax collector in Florida, was charged with a bevy of crimes, including trafficking of a minor, the same girl whom Gaetz is accused of abusing. A source familiar with the case told the outlet that while the feds were probing Greenberg, the alleged trafficking victim told them Gaetz had also had intimate relations with her at one point.

Gaetz denies the allegations and received Trump’s endorsement. “A relentless Fighter for the incredible people of Florida’s 1st Congressional District!” is what the former president called him, despite the investigations.

Meanwhile, in the Republican primary run-off election for Oklahoma’s U.S. Senate seat, banking executive T.W. Shannon was defeated by Oklahoma representative Markwayne Mullin. Earlier this year, when incumbent Jim Inhofe announced he was retiring, the Oklahoma Senate seat opened up and if Mullin wins in November, he will serve the remaining four years of Inhofe’s term.

Primary races, including Kat Cammack, John Rutherford, Marco Rubio, Gus Bilirakis, Neal Dunn, and Anna Paulina Luna were swept by Trump’s Florida endorsees. Others such as incumbent Congressman Vern Buchanan, Greg Steube, Scott Franklin, Byron Donalds, Brian Mast, Mario Diaz-Balart, and Carlos Gimenez also found their way into the Trump-backed Florida Republican victors list. While incumbent Republican congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis, Elise Stefanik, and Representative Claudia Tenney, are among the Trump-endorsed New York wins.
