A hospital in Boston which was recently ranked the number one children’s hospital in the United States, is offering “gender-affirming hysterectomies” to minors. Frances Grimstad, a pediatric gynecologist, specializes in transgender reproductive health at this hospital for children. She explained what gender-affirming hysterectomy” entails in a video.
She said: “A gender-affirming hysterectomy is very similar to most hysterectomies that occur. A hysterectomy itself is the removal of the uterus, the cervix (which is the opening of the uterus) and the fallopian tubes which are attached to the sides of the uterus.”
She added that performing some gender-affirming hysterectomies will require the removal of the ovaries in a separate procedure called a bilateral oophorectomy. However, not all gender-affirming hysterectomy includes that, and people who undergo these surgeries do not have to have their ovaries removed.
However, this procedure, whether for gender-affirming reasons or not, is irreversible, and whoever goes through this process will be unable to bear children forever. The hospital, fully aware of this fact, still encourages this surgery for minors who are not yet in college or know what they want to do with their lives.
Yet, Boston Children’s Hospital is not doing this secretly, as they posted it on their website for everyone to see. The website mentions that the hospital offers comprehensive medical care for children from birth to age 21 and includes “gender-affirming” care for transgender youths.

It reads: “The Center for Gender Surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital offers gender affirmation surgery services to eligible adolescents and young adults who are ready to take this step in their journey. It is the first center of its kind in the U.S. in a major pediatric hospital setting.”
The website also mentioned that children aged 15 could go under the knife for breast augmentations or double mastectomies with consent from their parents. In addition, a 17-year-old trans woman is allowed to receive a vaginoplasty at this hospital. Moreso, an 18-year-old trans man can also receive a metoidioplasty or phalloplasty.
Erika Sanzi, the director of outreach at the Parents Defending Education NGO, criticized this as she said it was terrifying to see a world-renowned pediatric hospital talking about permanently altering the bodies of young girls in the name of gender-affirming.
Delano Squires responded to the BCH video by saying,“‘Gender-affirming care’ is newspeak for permanently altering the bodies of kids & adults through drugs and surgery. If you watch the video with no sound, you’d assume this lady was talking about her love of classic literature. I’ll take a bulldog over a ‘winsome’ butcher any day.”
The way this hospital which is for children at that, made this life-altering step seem like a regular surgery that is no different from getting a fun makeover, is the most shocking part of this issue by far. People can only wonder what lengths these liberal activists will go to normalize anything in the name of being woke.
