Woman accused of making ‘mockery of Christianity’ with outfit she was wearing

Addison Rae, a TikTok star (lol we can’t say that without laughing), was taken to church by members of the Christian community, over a social media post that some have deemed “a mockery of Christianity.” A specific photo on Instagram was shared by the influencer and actor, where she was wearing a white, string bikini top bearing the words “father” on one side and “son” on the other. But the image was deleted quickly after members of the Christian community accused Rae of disrespecting their religion.

Here is Addison Rae going to the Met Gala, a party for rich and famous people that most of us will never be invited to:

The full swimsuit also says “holy spirit” on the bottoms, completing the Holy Trinity. It is a collaboration between athletic apparel giant Adidas and fashion brand Praying. Rae’s reasons for removing the post are between her and her God since she hasn’t commented publicly on the bikini backlash.

“All I’m going to say is—these people are going to learn the hard way not to play with GOD. Just wait and watch,” @XAVIAERD tweeted in a rebuke of Rae’s original post.

@DannyBee8801 tweeted: “why do you gotta disrespect Christianity like that? You don’t disrespect any other religion, just Christianity? And why do you have to create it, @adidas? Not that I was ever a fan of adidas (or Addison Rae for that matter) but I’ll never buy anything from adidas.”

On the other side, however, others were not bothered by Rae’s swimwear choices and urged the “He’s All That” star not to “listen to the church.”

@JlNSOULNECKMEAT tweeted: “ppl cryin about addison rae wearing the father son and the holy spirit bikini is making me wanna support her like… ‘omg she is committing a sin’ GURL GO OUTSIDE PPL R DYING AND UR MAD CUZ SHE WORE A F— BIKINI.”

“addison rae mocking the holy trinity makes me like her a little more lol that bikini was kinda slay,” @gvkkyy tweeted, as stated on LA Times.

Rae and Jimmy Fallon also received criticism last year for a “Tonight Show” segment that saw the 21-year-old teach the TV host a series of viral TikTok dances, so this isn’t the first time the famous TikToker has landed in hot water. Fallon invited the creators on “The Tonight Show” to show off their moves, after many called Rae out for performing the dances without crediting their Black choreographers.

Fallon said at the time: “On our last show before break, we did a bit with Addison Rae where she taught me eight viral TikTok dances, and we recognize that the creators of those dances deserve to have their own spotlight.” “So right now, some of the creators will join me to talk about how their dance went viral and then perform the dance themselves,” he added.
