BREAKING: America-Bashing Basketball Player Admits Guilt in Russia as Her Wife Vainly Begs for Brandon’s Help

After a long saga of complaints about Biden’s surprising insouciance about Putin’s Russia detaining and prosecuting Brittney Griner, Griner’s repeated pleas for help from Biden, and Russia refusing to back down and release the WNBA player, who was caught smuggling a cannabis-derived oil for her vaporizer device into the Russian Federation, Griner has finally had her day in court.

Unsurprisingly, she lost: following a trial that began last week, Griner pleaded guilty to drug charges in a Russian court, admitting her guilt but claiming that she did not intend to break the law.

News on that comes from Reuters, which reported that:

U.S. basketball star Brittney Griner pleaded guilty to a drugs charge in a Russian court on Thursday but denied she had intentionally broken the law.

Griner was speaking at the second hearing of her trial on the narcotics charge that could see her sentenced to up to 10 years in prison, days after she urged U.S. President Joe Biden to secure her release.

Also according to Reuters, Griner said: “I’d like to plead guilty, your honour. But there was no intent. I didn’t want to break the law. I’d like to give my testimony later. I need time to prepare.

Her next hearing is scheduled for July 14th, 2022, so she’ll have a week to prepare that testimony.

As Griner deals with the Russian authorities and admits that she smuggled drugs into their country, the wife of the America-hating athlete (yes, she’s also a lesbian) has been agitating for her release, saying, for example, at a rally organized by the Phoenix Mercury, Griner’s team:

What and how I feel is no longer hurt by the impact of this tragedy. What and how I feel today is a deeper emotion than hurt. I’m frustrated.

“I’m frustrated that 140 days have passed since my wife has been able to speak to me, to our family and to our friends. I’m frustrated that my wife is not going to get justice.

“Let’s make sure this administration knows that they have our support to do whatever is necessary, and that we are not going to ever be quiet until she’s home safely.”

What Biden can do, however, is unclear. US sanctions on Russia following the Russian invasion of [redacted], along with NATO weapons sales and transfers to the embattled country, have led to much-deteriorated relations between the US and the Russian Federation, as did Biden’s smear of Putin as a “killer.”

So there’s little goodwill that could be spent on prying the America-bashing athlete from Russia’s grasp.

Further, even if there was, it’s unclear why Biden would want to spend that goodwill on Griner.

She was caught committing a crime and has bashed America in the past, refusing, for example, to appear on the court for the National Anthem before her WNBA games. Such a person hardly seems worth the diplomatic effort necessary to pry a drug smuggler from Russia’s jails.
