BOOM: Disney Takes Major Heat for Refusing to Cast Beloved Conservative Actor Tim Allen in His Traditional Role as Voice of Buzz Lightyear

Tim Allen has always been the voice of Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story movies. Whether in the older originals or the newer sequels, conservative Hollywood personality Tim Allen has been in the movie as the voice of Buzz Lightyear.

That’s been one of the constants as Disney has changed over the years; whatever else happened, Tim Allen and a few others were the main voices in the movies.

But not anymore. Disney ridiculously booted Allen from the franchise, making Chris Evans the voice of Buzz Lightyear.

Some people were angry about that recasting decision, particularly Patricia Heaton of “Everybody Loves Raymond” fame, who took to Twitter to bash the decision to recast Buzz’s once-iconic voice and replace Tim Allen with Chris Evans. She, sounding off on Twitter, said:

Saw the trailer for Buzz Lightyear and all I can say is Disney/Pixar made a HUGE mistake in not casting my pal@ofctimallen Tim Allen in the role that he originated, the role that he owns. Tim IS Buzz! Why would they completely castrate this iconic, beloved character?

There are two reasons for the “why”, both of which seem believable given the direction Disney has gone in as of late.

The first is the one Disney will argue, which is that the movie was based not on Andy’s toy Buzz Lightyear, but on the “real” Buzz Lightyear. One commenter pointed that out on Twitter, saying:

Do people not pay attention? Tim Allen’s Buzz is the toy based off of a person. Chris Evan’s Buzz is the the real person that inspired the toy. The movie is about Buzz Lightyear the Person, not Andy’s toy.

That explanation is, however, by no means set in stone or obviously correct. Another person commented on that, pointing out the flaw in the explanation and saying “You DO know that Buzz Lightyear is NOT a person right? The TOY is based on a CHARACTER from a MOVIE. This is supposed to be that MOVIE. So YES… it would have made sense to have them sound the same since the TOY would have been made using voice samples of the same ACTOR…

That leads in to the other reason Disney might have booted Tim Allen, which is that he’s a conservative and Disney has gotten woker than the average Democrat, and thus might want to remove conservatives from its casting lineups.

Allen even has gone so far as to say he liked Trump, sayingOnce I realized the last president pissed people off, I kinda liked that.”

He also declared himself a “fiscal conservative,” saying “Once I started making money, I had this silent partner that just took almost half of my money and never gave me anything for it. That’s taxes. I’ve never liked taxes.

Oh, and Allen has made some funny jokes about Hunter Biden on Twitter. Read about that here.

Disney, meanwhile, is very evidently not a fan of #45 or his protegees, such as DeSantis, even going so far as to take a public stand against DeSantis’ Parental Rights in Education Bill, a bill meant to stop groomers from talking about sex to young children.

So, with that in mind, it would make sense that Disney purged Allen like it purged Gina Carano, who now works for the Daily Wire.

Perhaps the first, less controversial explanation is the real one. But it sure seems possible that Disney wanted to keep a Trump-supporting actor out of its movies.
