YIKES: Disturbing Details Leak about Teen Girl Found Dead in San Francisco Homeless District

Victorria Moran-Hidalgo, a 16-year-old who had been in and out of California state’s foster care system was found in the 600 block of Minna St in the very early hours of February 18th, 2022.

Her body was found just a few steps away from San Francisco’s tenderloin district which is notorious for its rampant drug abuse and homelessness. Her death was initially investigated as a suspected overdose but under suspicious circumstances.

Now that her autopsy report has been released it has been confirmed that her death was caused by multiple drugs in her system, including fentanyl. However, the manner of the teen’s death was still classified as undetermined.

On February 18th the witness had called police to report spotting a teen being sexually assaulted. As the caller ran closer, a man who was on top of Moran-Hidalgo fled according to the police report.

The witness administered Narcan immediately, which is an emergency medication used to try and rapidly reverse an opiate overdose, but the teen never regained consciousness and was later pronounced dead.

In his report, the medical examiner noted how her body was found partially undressed in full public view. That her legs and chest had had some minor bruising, but that she showed no signs of a traumatic injury.

The autopsy also found two copper-colored metallic projectile fragments within her, indicating that she had suffered a previous gunshot wound at some point. Rape kit swabs of her vagina did not show any signs of sperm.

Moran-Hidalgo had been reported missing since January of 2022 when she ran away from a Kern County group home.

While Victoria’s half-naked body in the street prompted public outcry at the time over the rampant drug problem, the police union criticized the liberal San Francisco District Attorney Boudine for what it categorized as policies that ensured same-day release for drug dealers.

What no one seems to be outraged about, however, is the fact that a 16-year-old who was a ward of the state died in such a horrific way and no one seems to want to hold the state accountable for being unable to provide proper care for this child.

When a child enters foster care for any reason whatsoever and the state takes over the care and upbringing of that child, it is ultimately the state’s responsibility to ensure that child remains safe until they reach the age of majority, which in most states is 18 years of age.

Foster children are especially vulnerable, as at least 50% end up in prison or pregnant before reaching the age of 18. Further, foster children often suffer from more mental health and drug abuse issues than children who haven’t been removed from their homes, even if there is some abuse present in homes according to some studies.

Has anyone even tried to hold the state of California responsible for failing Victoria so terribly and her short tragic life? Are the people of California content that their children are dying on the streets of drug overdoses while being raped by strangers?
