Police Hunt for Black Suspect with Dreads after Horrific Salon Shooting

Police in Pennsylvania are on the hunt for a shooter who blasted away at a nail salon in Pittston Township, PA, a small town in Northeastern Pennsylvania, hitting one person after firing several shots at the nail salon in what police are calling an “attempted homicide.”

The Times Leader, reporting on the attack, noted that in addition to motorists being warned away from the area, a wounded person was seen being taken away from the nail salon, the place that has become the focus of the police investigation:

There is no formal word yet on injuries, but a witness told the Times Leader that he saw an injured person being taken from Envy Nails, a salon in the plaza, which seemed to be a primary focus of the investigation.

Fox News adds that the victim was a 20-year-old female who was taken to the hospital, but that there is no word yet on the severity of her injuries.

And what does the suspect look like? As Fox put it, “Officials described the suspect as a Black man with dreadlocks, about 5’5″ to 5’8″ with a skinny build, wearing a blue shirt with white lettering.”

In other words, there’s little chance he was a “white supremacist” or “Christian nationalist”, the favorite boogeymen of CNN and MSNBC, which is why you haven’t heard of the shooting from the corporate press or non-Fox News MSM stations.

The intent behind the attempted homicide and shooting is unclear and has not yet been commented on by the police or speculated on by other outlets, and with the suspect still being searched for by police it could be awhile

This shooting follows an attack on hair salon in Dallas’ Koreatown that wounded three people of Asian descent. In that attack, Jeremy Smith, who is also a black man, attacked the salon in what is being treated as a hate crime because he was having delusions about Asian-Americans coming for him.

NPR, though it predictably declined to note Smith being an African-American, did note that the attack was probably a hate crime, saying:

When asked if he considered the shooting an issue of racism, mental health or both, Dallas police Chief Eddie Garcia said it’s too early to tell.

“Right now, it’s an issue of hate. It’s a hate crime. However that manifests itself, I’m not here to say that. I can tell you that I know our community sees it as a hate crime. I see it as a hate crime and so do our men and women,” Garcia said at a news conference Tuesday afternoon

[…]According to the affidavit, Smith’s girlfriend told detectives that he had been delusional about Asian Americans ever since being involved in a car crash two years ago with a man of Asian descent. She said he had been admitted to several mental health facilities because of the delusions.

Whenever Smith is around an Asian American, “he begins having delusions that the Asian mob is after him or attempting to harm him,” his girlfriend told police. She said he was fired for “verbally attacking” his boss, who was of Asian descent.
