Businessman David McCormick might (bizarrely) not been Trump’s pick in the crowded Senate race, a decision that was likely a major misstep for Trump, who choose to throw his support behind the far more liberal Dr. Oz.
Despite that lack of support from the former president, the MAGA-loving businessman is still rallying around the America First banner in his campaign, recently doing so in an extremely powerful video that his campaign released in the closing days of that battleground state primary. Watch it here:
The video is fiercely patriotic, far less cringey than the nonsense that Dr. Oz is pushing out, and solidifies McCormick’s representation of his credentials as a real conservative at a time when challenger Kathy Barnetteis looking worse by the day and Dr. Oz is looking as terrible as ever.
In it, McCormick, a West Point grad, delivers a fiercely pro-American message while also blasting the disastrously poor leadership America has seen as of late.
First, McCormick notes that he still has hopes about America’s future though he recognizes that it’s headed in the wrong direction, which is probably the right mix of showing patriotism while attacking how things are currently going, saying
“I am incredibly optimistic about our future. This is the American story. We get to the edge. We board ourselves back.
“I come to you as someone who’s a true conservative. I’m asking for your vote. The stakes couldn’t be higher because the country is headed in the wrong direction.”
It’s then that he turns his sites on both weakness and wokeness, saying:
“And the weakness that we see in our leaders, the wokeness we see in our institutions, our schools, our military, our businesses, it’s taken our country on a path that we’re not going to recognize.”
A good message and, perhaps more importantly, one that’s believable coming from him whereas it wouldn’t seem believable in the least coming from some fake conservative like Dr. Oz, who has pushed for kids to take puberty blockers and is otherwise obviously not a real MAGA Republican.
McCormick then ended by emphasizing the importance of both the race for that particular Senate seat and his record of military service, saying:
“It matters who you pick for this Senate seat. This Senate seat is the most important race in Pennsylvania in your lifetime because this will determine whether you have a strong conservative leader in the Senate, someone who will fight for America first policies, someone who will stand up and know what to do on day one.
“If I’m elected your Senator, I’m gonna go to Washington and fight for pro-growth economic policy, fight for deregulation, fight for energy dominance.
“Someone asked me the other day, ‘are you America first?’ and I said I’ve been America First my whole life. I’m the one that volunteered when I was 18 and put it all on the line.”
Fortunately for America, Pennsylvania voters seem to be tilting toward McCormick and away from the other two frauds. Let’s hope that holds through election day.
