There are many fascinating aspects of the modern left that are truly a marvel to watch, and their total lack of self-awareness my be at the top of the list. Living in an echo chamber as they do, they face no accountability from their media. They’re neither questioned on their hypocrisy nor asked to rationalize it. Making the most nonsensical assertions isn’t just ignored, it’s applauded, and we’ve seen examples time and again.
If an abortionist sticks a pair of long scissors into the skull of a baby in the womb, and then proceeds to carve up the baby’s body into smaller pieces to remove it from the mother, that’s considered “health care.” Riots that killed 25 Americans and caused over $2 billion in damage are called “fiery but mostly peaceful.” And stating facts regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop is called “disinformation,” while lying for four years about Donald Trump’s relationship with Russia is called “defending Democracy.”
As a result, leftist Democrats appear to have lost any ability to recognize irony, even when it punches them squarely in the face. Consider this video from Candace Owens as she attempts to visit and speak with Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors in one of her mansions:

Now, let’s consider the multitude of ironies that are so obvious in this situation:
- Candace Owens is a lot of things, but physically imposing isn’t one of them. Beautiful, brilliant, assertive, and relentless? Absolutely. But dangerous? You must be kidding.
- Owens is also black, just like Cullors. Isn’t it supposed to be racist to imply that someone who is black presents a physical danger?
- Cullors is hiding behind a wall for protection, with a staff monitoring that barrier to ensure her safety. Is there not an obvious similarity to the border wall conservatives are requesting, and having border patrols monitor that wall for our nation’s security?
- Cullors has one person – plus someone helping her film, presumably – knocking at Cullors’ gated property where’ she’s obviously protected, whereas we have Supreme Court justices who are having their lives threatened by scores of angry protesters marching in front of their ungated homes. Are we supposed to pretend that the endangerment of SCOTUS justices is inconsequential whereas the threat to Cullors is urgent?
Think about it: In a sane world, this interaction would be one of the top subjects for late-night talk shows for weeks. Saturday Night Live would be relentless in mocking Cullors, particularly her horrendous attempt at acting and crocodile tears. Instead, those so-called comedians just play along and shake their heads as they pretend to feel sorry for charlatans like Cullors.
For the left, up is down, left is right, and Candace Owens is threatening while Patrisse Cullors is some type of victim while she enjoys living in her mansion.
