If you’re a Democrat president like Biden, a sign that you might be doing things in a very wrong way is if a California Democrat starts attacking you for being too far to the left.
Given that Commiefornia is the land of blue hair and delusional leftism, hearing one of them say that you’ve gone a bit too leftist isn’t a good sign.
Well, that’s exactly what happened on Bill Maher’s “Real Time” last night. On that program, former Democratic Rep. Jane Harman of California, who is now a member of the Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Advisory Council, sounded off on the Ministry of Truth that Biden has created.
Speaking about the “Disinformation Governance Board”, the lack of consulting people like her that went into creating it, and what it’s meant to achieve, former Rep. Harman said:
“Well, full disclosure, I’m on the Homeland Security…Advisory [Council]. I was in Congress when the agency was set up, and it has performed well.
“I don’t get this piece. I wasn’t consulted. It was leaked before it was rolled out, and if it were confined to a few missions that you mentioned, Bill [Russian disinformation and human traffickers], I think it would be fine, and maybe that’s what they will intend.
“But I certainly agree that something very broad-scale that could become something like HUAC, the old Richard Nixon thing, would be highly unfortunate, and I don’t think that’s where it’s going.”
HUAC, or the House Un-American Activities Committee, was a body set up in the late 1930s to root out unpatriotic elements and then became a permanent body from 1945-75, during which time it was briefly quite prominent in the fight against communism in Hollywood.
Harman isn’t the only Democrat who has ripped Biden’s Ministry of Truth, the Disinformation Governance Board.
Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard did so as well shortly after the creation of the board was leaked, saying:
“This is the kind of thing that you see in dictatorships, this ‘Ministry of Truth’. [T]he reason why you see this in dictatorships is because they’re afraid of us. They’re afraid of the people. They’re afraid that we might actually think for ourselves…
“[T]hey’re revealing exactly who they are and why they’re doing it, what they’re trying to accomplish,” she said. “And it allows us, the American people, to stand up and say, ‘Hey, you know what? We’re not going to let you get away with this crap’.
“We will take a stand. We will reject it. And we will throw out of office those who are continuing to push and propagate this undemocratic, anti-free speech mission.”
Now even Democrats are turning on Team Biden because of how far down the Stalinist route it’s gone in the quest to attack conservative thought.
As the president and his party are already in the danger zone for 2022 and 2024 given the disaster that his presidency has been, that’s a very, very bad sign.
