Not Gonna “Play Fair?” DNC Chairman Makes Shocking Midterm Strategy Admission

Jaime Harrison, Democratic National Committee Chairman, appeared on MSNBC on Saturday, April 30th, to discuss the midterms with MSNBC host Tiffany Cross. During that conversation, he made a startling admission, one that will raise major red flags for many Republicans: according to Harrison, the 2022 midterms are no time for the Democrats to “play fair.”

That came as part of their chat when Cross, the host, brought up what another commentator, Roland Martin, said when appearing on the segment before Harrison. Martin, as Cross put it, said that now is the time the Democrats have to step up to save “democracy,” whatever that means in the context of the American republic.

Speaking on that point and using the “muh democracy” talking point to slander Republicans, Cross painted the GOP as a bunch of fascists, saying:

Let’s talk about the fascists on the other side. So I hear that, but I do think there are a lot of people, because you know, like we were just talking about, you and I, we consume, you know, eight papers in the morning, we look at the minutia of politics and most Americans are not doing that, and there are still a lot of people who feel disconnected from the party or maybe even disappointed in the party, fair enough.”

Harrison interjected at that point, saying “Brother Rolo!”, presumably in reference to Roland Martin’s comments.

Cackling like Kamala, Cross responded to Harrison, saying “Brother Rolo Is never shy about giving his opinion. So he had a lot to say about what he thinks Democrats should be doing. I want you to take a listen to get your thoughts.”

She then played the clip of Martin talking and discussing what he thinks the Democrats need to be doing. In the clip, Martin said:

You’ve got to have President Joe Biden stop being scared of Senator Joe Manchin and go make the argument in West Virginia and go to the red parts of Mississippi and Alabama and say, this is what we have done and these folks voted against it and this is how we have delivered. They’ve got to be willing to engage in war!

You cannot play fair with people who don’t play fair, there are no rules, the other side has shown that they will do whatever is necessary in order to win, so you’ve got to say, America, when they didn’t care about you, we did.”

Cross then asked Harrison, the current guest, what he thought of the clip, asking “What are your thoughts? I felt like that was a good road map.”

Harrison, the Democratic National Committee Chairman didn’t take the opportunity to calm tensions or indicate that the Democrats would indeed be playing fair come November. Rather, he shockingly agreed with Cross and Roland that Democrats shouldn’t play fair, saying “It is a good road map.

So, as Democrats continually insist that it’s the GOP that’s full of “insurrectionists”, remember that they’re the ones who are saying that they won’t play fair in the 2022 midterms, whatever exactly that means.
