[Watch]: Biden Addresses An Empty Room, Can’t Form Complete Sentences

President Joe Biden was in Portsmouth, New Hampshire yesterday promoting the $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that he signed into law in November. As usual, he went off-script several times and provided us with some curious and disturbing moments when he did. But even when he was reading from his teleprompter, much of what he said was outright bizarre.

As far as Biden speeches go, this one contained all the aspects of what makes a Biden speech a trainwreck, including a sparse audience. For those who are aficionados of Joe Biden oratory, this 27-minute lecture had everything you could ever want… or dread.

Incoherence: In less than a half-hour, Biden had at least a dozen examples of total blabbering, but this one instance stood out. It’s still not clear what the heck he was talking about. “Maine, New Hampshire, America her gone on the mend… There not on her not on the mend any longer, they’re on the move.” So we’re not on the mend? And if we’re “on the move,” where are we going, exactly?

Flat Out Lying: The topics Biden covered, or tried to cover, were all over the place. Lead pipes poisoning water, high-speed internet, Putin price hike, and roads and bridges. As usual, he told some tall tales and just made stuff up. But this assertion was the most egregious. “The budget I proposed this year, if it comes to fruition, will cut the deficit by $1.3 trillion.” And if anyone believes that, I’ve got a bridge in New Hampshire I’d like to sell you.

That creepy, leaning forward and whispering thing he does: Is it just me, or does this routine seem to be getting even weirder? “What in God’s name are we doing. Look, I’m a capitalist. I think people should be able to go out and make millions of dollars, even a billion if you can make it. But at least pay your fair share.” The claim is total BS, of course, but that look on his face and that strange hunching of his back. Yikes.

Unity and Healing: I think Biden and his handlers forgot about the unity and healing thing. We hadn’t heard it in a while, but it came through at the end of yesterday’s speech. Minutes earlier during his speech he preached about the evils of Republicans, but still chose to close out with “That’s exactly what we’re going to do today if we do it together. It’s about being together: The ‘United’ States of America. If we do that, there’s not a single thing we can’t do.”

The speech was mostly a rehash of previous attacks and rhetoric from Biden. It was more of a campaign speech than anything else, and we didn’t learn anything new. But we did receive confirmation of something we already knew: Those horrendous polling numbers for Biden, going as low as 33%, are no accident, and those numbers are probably going to go even lower.
