BOOM: Elon Blows Up Twitter, Hints at His Plans with 2 Cryptic, Three Word Tweets

The Elon Musk-Twitter Board saga might be the best thing that’s happened this year. At the very least, it’s one of the most entertaining, as it’s hilarious to watch the leftists freak out over the idea that an end to their censorious reign is finally coming.

And Elon, being the Twitter troll/genius CEO that he is, is making it all the better by continually stirring the pot and riling people up with his brilliant moves and hilarious tweets. Recently, he did so twice, posting two three-word tweets that put the internet on edge about what he plans to do next.

The first was his “Love Me Tender” post which, as he’s a troll, could either just be a joke or could be something more.

Suggesting that it’s something more was an article in CNBC that suggested the tweet might be a hint that Elon plans to offer a tender offer to Twitter. As that article put it:

Elon Musk on Saturday posted a cryptic tweet that said “Love Me Tender,” suggesting he was either listening to Elvis or possibly considering a potential tender offer to Twitter shareholders to take control of the company.

A tender offer would be the latest in the saga over his dramatic bid to take control of Twitter. Another tweet suggests that Musk believes shareholders should decide the future of the company, not the board.

A tender offer is an offer to buy up shareholders’ stock in a company. As Investopedia describes the move:

A tender offer is a bid to purchase some or all of shareholders’ stock in a corporation. Tender offers are typically made publicly and invite shareholders to sell their shares for a specified price and within a particular window of time. The price offered is usually at a premium to the market price and is often contingent upon a minimum or a maximum number of shares sold.

To tender is to invite bids for a project or accept a formal offer such as a takeover bid. An exchange offer is a specialized type of tender offer in which securities or other non-cash alternatives are offered in exchange for shares.

How Elon would manage to take over Twitter with such a bid is unclear, as the poison pill Twitter’s Board settled on would limit his ownership to 14.9% of the corporation, though some are adamant that that’s what his “love me tender” tweet means.

Following up on that cryptic message that could have big implications with another, similarly cryptic tweet later on, Elon tweeted “_____ is the night”

As with the tender tweet, it’s not quite clear what this one means. As it came last night and nothing new came out about his attempt to but Twitter, presumably it doesn’t mean that “tonight” (as in last night) is the night, though perhaps it’s a hint that he’ll make a major move overnight sometime soon.

Given that both tweets are cryptic, short, and relate to famous song lyrics, it seems like something’s up, though what exactly that is isn’t clear. But with Elon, whatever it is will probably be exciting.
