Biden May Back Down On Ending Trump Immigration Policy – Title 42

In a possible huge change in direction, a report is out that the Biden administration, which has been ignoring our national immigration laws and forcing our southern border wide open, might not end one of former President Trump’s immigration policies after all.

The progressive news site Axios is reporting: President Joe Biden is considering backing down on plans to end the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Title 42 — the public health authority that has doubled as a border control measure — as Republican lawmakers head to the United States-Mexico border to sound the alarm on illegal immigration.

On Tuesday, a source told Axios that Biden and his top agency officials are considering not following through on their current plans to end the use of Title 42 on May 23 — a move that many fear and even they admit could bring a wave of illegal immigration never seen before in American history.

They are reporting that the internal issues and debates inside the Democratic party are heating up.

Axios is reporting:

The White House is looking for ways to buy time to avoid a massive influx of migrants that would add to already-historic border numbers. That already endangers Democratic incumbents in states that could decide the Senate majority in November.

Endangered Democrats are bluntly and publicly warning of a political disaster in the midterms. They’re pleading with the White House not to give Republicans an opportunity to paint Democrats as the party of open borders. [Emphasis added]

“The politics are pretty simple,” Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) told Axios. “The Republicans are going to hit Democrats with those videos of people streaming into the United States.”

On the other hand, the open borders activists, The Congressional Hispanic Caucus, is meeting next Monday to serve as a reminder for Biden that a crucial part of his party’s base will be extremely disappointed if he reverses course and extends Title 42.

Their 2 main points for Biden this group is arguing

“Asylum is a human right, and ending Title 42 is the right thing to do,” said. Rep. Jesús “Chuy” García (D-Ill.).

“Now that mask mandates are ending across our country, it is even harder for those who support Title 42 to say this policy is a matter of public health,” Garcia said.

The administration’s deliberations concerning holding off on ending Title 42 come as two Republican congressional delegations head to the southern border this week.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) is leading a group of congressmen at the California-Mexico border while House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is headed to the Texas-Mexico border this week with a small group of fellow Republicans.

They are expected to meet with the National Border Patrol Union as well as officials from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Army National Guard.

Without Title 42, Biden officials admit that they expect up to half a million border crossers and illegal aliens, to arrive at the border every month.

Already, Biden has released an unprecedented number of border crossers into American communities. From January 2021 to February 2022, Biden released more than 756,000 border-crossers into the U.S. interior.

Things must look really bad or DHS Secretary Mayorkas would already be publicly arguing for the need to end title 42, providing Biden the cover he would need to try to prevent being blamed for the disaster that would soon fall upon our nation.

Some of the total numbers they are estimating are mind-blowing, a humanitarian disaster just waiting to happen.
