“Is Twitter Dying?”: Elon Musk Takes Another Critical Step in the War on Wokeness

Every now and then, a glimmer of hope cuts through the darkness with the promise of a brighter day. The most recent instance of this shining ray comes in the form of an Un-Woke Elon Musk. The world needed someone of stature and influence to step into the street and challenge the woke gangsters to a showdown. Musk, an unlikely warrior, answered this clarion call with courage by openly blasting wokeness as “hateful,” then put his money where his mouth is by buying a 9.2% stake in Twitter. Elon Musk once compared former and current Twitter CEOs Jack Dorsey and Parag Agrawal to Joseph Stalin. Now he sits on the board, which strikes fear in the hearts of Twitter employees who have gleefully denied free speech to millions of users for years.

Generally, Elon Musk is not regarded as conservative, but he has donated more to Republicans in the past than democrats. In 2017, he gave seven times more money to GOP candidates than he did Democrats. Musk briefly supported the left-leaning Andrew Yang before moving his support to the more conservative Kanye West. Regardless of his political leanings, Musk has correctly identified Wokeness as destructive and put himself in the belly of the woke beast that is Twitter to exact some measure of change from within.

Before becoming the largest shareholder of Twitter stock, Musk battled leftist tyrants in California. In 2020 during covid, Musk refused to kneel before the politburo in Alameda County, California, and kept his Tesla manufacturing plant open. He called the Shutdowns and stay-at-home orders “fascist” and told the authorities to come and arrest him if they felt compelled in the following tweet –

“Tesla is restarting production today against Alameda County rules. I will be on the line with everyone else. If anyone is arrested, I ask that it only be me”

Musk also referred to the stifling coronavirus restrictions as “breaking people’s freedoms in ways that are horrible and wrong and not why they came to America or built this country.”

With his sometimes left-leaning politics, Elon Musk seems like an odd figure to confront progressive radicals on the battlefield of wokeness, but that’s ok because he’s the best we’ve got. Who else with the means and motivation is coming forward? What other high-profile individual has stepped forward to say the following –

“We should aim for a positive society. Wokeness is a mind-virus and one of the biggest threats to modern civilization. Wokeness basically wants to make comedy illegal – it should be ok to be humorous. At its heart, wokeness is divisive, exclusionary, and hateful and gives people a shield to be mean and cruel. Wokeness is armored in false virtue.”

Elon Musk describes himself as a “free speech absolutist” and has openly criticized Twitter’s tyrannical behavior by stating, “Twitter algorithm should be open source” so people can inspect the code that determines which tweets get displayed more prominently in users’ feeds and which ones are trashed. Musk has suggested that he wanted to start his own social network to promote free speech, but maybe his move to insert himself into Twitter is better. He has effectively pointed his dagger at the heart of wokeness and is fighting the good fight to allow all voices to return to the town square. For this reason, Elon Musk receives this week’s Un-Woke Award.
