Radical Democrat Roars Opposition to Anti-Child Porn Effort

2022 is shaping up to be an electoral disaster year for Democrats. So, what are they doing to change that and try and turn the red wave from a tsunami to a ripple? Apparently, someone told them that defending child pornography would be a good idea, because that’s just what they’re doing.

Specifically, Senator Dick Durbin vociferously attacked Senator Josh Hawley’s effort to stiffen sentencing for child porn offenders. Watch that here:

As you can hear in the video, Senator Durbin attacked Hawley’s effort because…modern technology makes it easier to access child porn. Apparently, that’s an excuse for letting them off lightly.

This isn’t the first time that Durbin has attacked Hawley over the child porn issue either. Back during the Kentanji hearings, Durbin went on the warpath against Hawley for daring to bring up her sentencing record for child porn offenders on Twitter, as Yahoo reported, saying:

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin kicked off Monday’s historic Supreme Court confirmation hearing for Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson by taking a thinly-veiled swipe at Republican Sen. Josh Hawley.

Durbin, an Illinois Democrat, went after Hawley over the Missouri senator’s recent claim on Twitter that he’d “noticed an alarming pattern when it comes to Judge Jackson’s treatment of sex offenders, especially those preying on children.”

“These baseless charges are unfair. A conservative National Review columnist called claims brought by one of my colleagues, ‘meritless to the point of demagoguery,” Durbin said in his opening statement. “They fly in the face of pledges my colleagues made that they would approach your nomination with civility and respect.”

Durbin also attacked the GOP generally for daring to bring up Kentanji’s record, saying:

“On the whole, my Republican colleagues starting with my ranking member, Senator Grassley, treated the nominee with dignity and respect. They promised not to turn this confirmation process into a court circus, and most kept that promise.”

“Some, however, did not. Instead they repeatedly interrupted and badgered Judge Jackson and accused her of vile things in front of her parents, her husband, and her children. There was table pounding, some literal, from a few of my colleagues. They repeated discredited claims about Judge Jackson’s record. They impugned her motives and questioned her candor. One all but called her a liar. They even suggested that Judge Jackson, mother to two wonderful daughters, quote ‘endangers children.‘”

So Kentanji isn’t the bad guy for letting child porn creeps off with barely a slap on the wrist, but rather the Republicans are the bad guys for daring to bring up that she did so.

Further, the crocodile tears over a “circus” are absurd. Was he proudly standing up for congeniality during the Kavanaugh hearings?

No, no he wasn’t, despite the fact that those hearing revolved around a lie rather than a docket of cases.

Child porn is bad. So are those who watch it or defend those that do. So much should be obvious. Apparently it’s not obvious to Democrats.
