Gary Vanderpool, an 81-year-old construction company owner, passed away in 2020. He left behind an exciting collection of custom vehicles.

These vehicles are scheduled for auction on May 14th, 2022. All proceeds will be going to the Tom Vanderpool Memorial Fund which supports missions in the Philippines and Venezuela. The Fund has been named after Gary’s son who died while serving on the mission field.

In 1998, Tom Vanderpool died in an airplane crash, along with 11 other people. He was piloting an airplane for Living Water Teaching, which ran a Bible school and provided medical and dental care to locals in Guatemala. There were 7 survivors on the plane.

Tom VanderPool was flying American volunteers to Guatemala City when, due to Hurricane Mitch, they were unable to land because of weather conditions. They turned back to the grass strip at the mission’s home base, but unfortunately the plane crashed into a mountain four miles away from the airstrip.

Gary VanderPool must have quite the eclectic taste in vehicles. The lineup for the auction offer a wide variety of pickup trucks, cars, motorcycles, trailers, construction equipment, and even an armored personnel carrier.

VanDerBrink Auctions LLC will be the official auctioneer for the sale. You can see the entire lot for sale on their website.
