Rapper Ice T Sets the Internet on Fire with Hilarious, Anti-Biden “Dad Joke”

Normally, I’m no big fan of pop stars speaking out of political issues. They’re good at and experienced in singing, dancing, or whatever other form of entertainment, not in giving thoughtful political takes.

However, sometimes political issues aren’t just bickering between the few committed members of both parties, but rather things that touch all of us in a similar way.

In Joe Biden’s America, such an issue is the price of gas: cheap under Trump, it’s skyrocketed recently, leaving many Americans feeling like they were “robbed” at the pump, with the culprit being the pump itself.

Well, rapper Ice T picked up on that sentiment and shared it in a recent, hilarious tweet, saying:

I was robbed at a gas station in NJ last night. After my hands stopped trembling..I managed to call the cops and they were quick to respond and calmed me down….. My money is gone.. the police asked me if I knew who did it..I said yes.. it was pump number 9…”

Since the post went live it has gone viral, drawing in more than 605,000 likes and has been retweeted a whopping 85,000 times.

According to a report from The Daily Wire, “Gas prices soared earlier this month to a record high, as The Daily Wire reported. The national average climbed to $4.104 per gallon, according to GasBuddy, breaking the record average price set all the way back in 2008 in the midst of the Great Recession. Gas prices have since slid downward. According to AAA, the current average price sits at $4.236 per gallon, down from the record national average of $4.331 set on March 11. Prices in the state of New Jersey are currently about $4.201 on average.”

Here are more details on the responses to Ice-T’s tweet:

Twitter users, including a number of prominent conservatives, reacted to the tweet, with many laughing along with the rapper’s “dad joke,” while others commented that the tweet was an indicator of bigger issues around inflation and the economy.

“I’m so dead on this one….I was robbed as well,” actor Neil Brown Jr. replied.

Now you know NOBODY is robbing Ice T except a gas pump!” lawyer and writer Exavier Pope tweeted in reply.

Can’t wait for legendary gangster rapper Ice T’s forthcoming album ‘Nice To Meet You, Hungry, I’m Dad’” rap group Clipping cracked in its reply to the joke.

“Haha! Now imagine an average middle class person having to do this week after week.”

“Suspend the gas tax and move to energy independence,” California State Assembly candidate Suzette Valladares penned in a tweet. “It doesn’t have to be like this.”

Another user on Twitter scoffed at Ice-T’s complaints, going on to post a photo of a gas stating charging 2.66 euros per liter of gas. When you translate that to American dollars, it’s $11.40 a gallon.

It’s okay. Take a deep breath. Steady yourself. Maybe take a seat somewhere. I know seeing that figure was scary, but you have to hold yourself together, okay?

All of this could be solved by the U.S. becoming energy independent. We take those steps and the prices fall. Not to mention we cut off our ties to other countries around the world, which gives us a huge advantage on the geopolitical stage.

Too bad Biden won’t dare take a step in that direction.
