[VIDEO] Spartacus Sobs! Senator Booker Continues To Gush Over Ketanji Brown Jackson

We’ve become accustomed to the hyper-politicization of the Supreme Court, particularly when it comes to the confirmation process for nominees. Wild, unsubstantiated allegations against Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his hearings in 2018 depicted him as the second coming of Caligula. The left and their media ate it up, parroting the outlandish claims at every opportunity.

One of the more memorable moments of the Kavanaugh hearings came from Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) when he practically became double-jointed patting himself on the back during his “I am Spartacus moment.” During those hearings, Booker was doing everything possible to derail Kavanaugh’s confirmation, up to and including violating Senate rules and knowingly promoting blatant lies against Kavanaugh.

Not much has changed since then, as the current hearings to confirm President Biden’s nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson have been as politicized as Kavanaugh’s, but in reverse of course. Democrats are now bending over backward to give their nominee every benefit of the doubt, as evidenced by the left’s inexplicable defense of Jackson’s refusal on Wednesday to define what a “woman” is.

But perhaps the best indicator of the process’ continued politicization has been how obvious it is that Sen. Booker’s level of integrity has not improved in the three and a half years since the Kavanaugh hearings. Consider this fawning exchange between Booker and Jackson:

While Republican members of the Senate Judiciary Committee have been pressing Jackson on her jurisprudence, her qualifications, and her record, Democrats like Booker have focused on “not letting anybody in the Senate steal my joy.”

For those who may not be old enough to remember, there was a time when Democratic senators actually fulfilled their duties at these hearings by fairly scrutinizing a Supreme Court nominee to confirm his or her worthiness. But Booker’s priority is clearly on him preserving his joy and ensuring Jackson makes it to the bench: qualifications be damned.

Consider some of the following outlandish statements by the senator:

“You didn’t get here by some leftwing agenda.”… That’s funny senator because President Biden openly admitted that he was only going to consider a black woman as his nominee; that’s kind of leftwing, don’t you think?

“You’re a person who’s so much more than your race and gender.”… It’s interesting you should say that Senator Booker, because during the entirety of your comments you focused on nothing but Jackson’s race and gender.

“It’s hard for me to look at you and not see my mom.”… We’re debating, as a nation, whether to put this woman on the highest court in the land for the rest of her life, and you’re comparing her to your mother? That’s some serious inspection of Jackson’s credentials you’re doing there, senator.

We can only hope that the charades being played by Senator Booker are exposing him and the Democrats to independent and moderate voters. This is what you get when you elect Democrats, America. Race-baiting disingenuousness by public officials turning up the volume to eleven on identity politics.
