Hunter Biden’s Recently Convicted Business Pal Takes Major Swipe at Biden Family

Devon Archer, a longtime business associate of Hunter Biden, former crack addict and the president’s son, was recently convicted of felony securities fraud thanks to a scheme in which he fleeced an Indian tribe out of millions of dollars.

While Elizabeth Warren is yet to comment on Bide’s business partners stealing yet more money from her people, Archer himself is using the intense scrutiny placed on him thanks to his connection with Hunter Biden in a desperate bid to get out of prison time.

Claiming that he’s already been punished enough because he was raked over the coals in the media due to that Hunter Biden connection, his lawyers argue in his sentencing memo, available here thanks to Just the News, that he doesn’t need prison time. Specifically, they argue (emphasis ours):

No matter how this case ultimately turns out, Mr. Archer has already suffered a great deal. He has lived with the crushing burden that his involvement, albeit unknowing, in Jason Galanis’s fraud caused harm to so many people – not only the direct victims of the crime, but also for example the numerous Burnham employees who lost their jobs as a result. He has lived with the impact on his family, including his three young children who have been traumatized by their father’s prosecution and conviction, which have become matters of national headlines and presidential politics by virtue of Mr. Archer’s association with people of prominence. And, relatedly, Mr. Archer has watched the reputation and career he built over decades fall apart around him as he has faced a near constant onslaught of vitriolic media attention.

What’s important there is the last line, where he places the blame on the “near constant onslaught of vitriolic media attention.”

That line is both a swipe at Hunter Biden and his defense; in effect, he’s arguing that because Hunter Biden was smoking crack and lost his computer, a computer that contained lots of what many characterize as incriminating evidence, Devon Archer, one of the men implicated by the information on the computer and uncovered in resulting investigations, has faced undue media attention.

It’s a ridiculous argument, as Archer is being convicted for fleecing an Indian tribe out of millions, not for being one of the sketchy businessmen that worked with Hunter to sort out deals in Red China, though there’s probably something there that could be incriminating too.

However, it is an important swipe at the Biden family, as it pushes Hunter’s less than savory activities back into the limelight at a time when Biden is already doing poorly.

Further, though written as a plea for mercy, it could also be a veiled threat to Hunter; if Archer isn’t helped out of a situation he’s in because of Hunter and the scrutiny he drew to himself, perhaps he’ll start talking in some sort of plea deal.

That’s little more than speculation, but reading between the lines is important here; Archer, whatever his faults, obviously knows how to play games in the shadows. Why would he not keep playing that game to the very end, hoping to use his leverage over the president’s son to get out of jail time?

In any case, what isn’t speculative is that Archer tosses yet more gas onto the roar of attention on Democrat corruption already blazing thanks not only to Hunter’s indiscretion and Pelosi’s stock trading but also Durham’s acknowledgment that Hillary spied on Trump, even when he was president. By reminding the world of Hunter’s shadiness, Archer ensured that the blaze will just roar all the louder.
