Neill Young was an idiot when he demanded Spotify remove either Rogan or him; obviously he would be the one removed, Rogan gets more listens a day than he does in a month. It’s likely there wasn’t even a debate.
However, his petulant, childish demand did kickoff a general celebrity freakout about Rogan spreading “misinformation”, by which they mean anything other than the current media narrative.
Afterward, a steady trickle of B-list celebrities and washed-up singers complained about Rogan and threatened to pull their music, unlistened to podcast, or never before downloaded audiobooks from Spotify unless Rogan was removed. Rogan was not removed.
However, Rogan did take to Instagram to post a video addressing the current public pressure and his podcasts with the doctors who must not be named, saying:
“The podcast has been accused of spreading ‘dangerous misinformation,’ specifically about two episodes. A little bit about some other ones, but specifically about two. One with Dr. Peter McCullough, and one with Dr. Robert Malone.
Both these people are very highly credentialed, very intelligent, very accomplished, people. And they have an opinion that’s different from the mainstream narrative. I wanted to hear what their opinion is. […} [T]hose episodes in particular were labeled as being dangerous– they had dangerous misinformation in them. The problem I have with the term ‘misinformation’, especially today, is that many of the things we thought of as misinformation just a short while ago are now excepted as fact.“
I’m not a doctor. I’m not a scientist. I’m just a person who sits down with people and has conversations with them…I’m interested in having interesting conversations with people that have differing opinions. I’m not interested in only talking to people that have one perspective.”
It was a good statement, one that showed the world he wasn’t crazy without bending the knee to the crazy people that want his head.
Since then, numerous pop figures have backed him up, supporting him while the talking heads and unimportant celebrities freak out.
One such pro-Rogan celebrity is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who commented on Rogan’s explanation video, saying “Great stuff here brother. Perfectly articulated. Look forward to coming on one day and breaking out the tequila with you.”
Now, it’s not as good as an open statement or video. But it’s a good start.
And the Rock wasn’t the only one. Kevin James, for example, commented too, saying “Joe – we go way back and all these years I’ve known you to be nothing but objective and seeking truth. Thank you. Love you brother.” The Daily Wire gave a few more examples:
A “100%” emoji were posted by former NFL quarterback and Hall-of-Famer Troy Aikman.
“Tell me 1 person in the mainstream media that is this transparent and this open,” comedian and actor Jamie Kennedy wrote. “Go ahead , I’ll wait.”
Comedian Andrew Schulz posted a crown emoji in support.“Well said,” all-around health and fitness guru Jillian Michaels said. “It’s important people have self agency. Listen to all perspectives and choose for themselves. Stay strong.”
Popular DJ Kaskade told Rogan, “Nailed it,” Billboard reported.
“SO WELL SAID,” comedian Andrew Dice Clay wrote. “AND I AM SO PROUD OF HOW YOU HAVE HANDLED IT All. STAY STRONG MY FRIEND!!!”Actor, host, and comedian Michael Yo posted: “Do you brother. Keep crushing and don’t apologize for having conversations with both sides.”
Reality TV star Jenni Farley, dubbed “JWOWW,” commented: “Perfectly said.”
Again, it would be better if all of those celebrities made videos in defense of Rogan, articulating clearly why free speech is important and why Neill Young and the other washed-up boomers should back off.
But it’s a start, one that’s much needed as our culture falls victim to even more craziness at the hands of the insane leftists.
