Biden Plans Angry GA Speech On Tuesday Attacking Voting Integrity Laws, Stacey Abrams And Others Just Bailed On Him

Hold on Georgia, President Biden is getting medicated up and will be on his way to see you on Tuesday. The administration is hoping Joe will act energetic and as though he actually cares about the Peach State’s new election integrity laws.

The media is using words like dramatic, angry, and determined, in describing what America should expect from the Chief Executive Officer’s speech.

Biden was scheduled to appear with one of his favorite girls, Stacey Abrams.

“Stacey, if we had ten of you, we could rule the whole world,” Biden said at a December rally in 2020. God love ya. You’re doing an incredible job.”

Abrams famously refused to concede the 2018 election to winner Gov. Brian Kemp after losing by nearly 55,000 votes. “I will not concede because the erosion of our democracy is not right,” she said, blaming Republican voter suppression for her loss.

Even though Joe is looking forward to seeing Abrams, and she praised Biden for coming down to GA  on Tuesday, she just changed her mind and will not appear with President Joe Biden after all.

An Abrams aide told the New York Times that she will not be able to attend Biden’s speech, citing a “prior commitment.”

In addition liberal Voting Rights Groups Skipping Biden’s Speech in Georgia Over Inaction

“But several leading voting rights and civil rights groups are pointedly skipping the speech, protesting what they denounced as months of frustrating inaction by the White House — which they said showed that Mr. Biden did not view Republican attacks on voting rights with sufficient urgency.

“We do not need any more speeches, we don’t need any more platitudes,” said James Woodall, former president of the N.A.A.C.P. of Georgia. “We don’t need any more photo ops. We need action, and that actually is in the form of the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, as well as the Freedom to Vote Act — and we need that immediately.”

The president is expected to use the issue of voting rights to call for reform of the Senate filibuster rules and condemn Republicans, according to a Politico preview of the speech.

“We are doubling down, kicking it into another gear, we are going right to the belly of the beast, or ground zero, for voter suppression, voter subversion and obstruction,” said Cedric Richmond, White House senior adviser and director of the Office of Public Engagement.”

Biden will condemn the election law reforms passed by Republicans in Georgia, and signed by Gov. Brian Kemp in March, as racist and just one more example of how dangerous former President Trump is for democracy.

The reforms passed in Georgia include voter ID requirements, restrict the number of drop boxes, and block officials from sending absentee ballot applications to all voters.

Democrats have been attacking the new rules which are actually much more lenient and accommodating for GA voters than the laws in Biden’s home state of Delaware.

It will be interesting to watch tomorrow as Joe will try to act angry and energetic while staring aimlessly at his teleprompters. I am sure we will hear some Biden blunders during the speech, but what’s new?
