Mayo Clinic to Lay Off Hundreds of Unvaxxed Staff

If this pandemic really were the next Spanish Flu or Black Death, you’d think hospitals and clinics would be doing all they could to hold onto each and every trained staff member. Were people dropping like fleas, everyone who could possibly help would be needed.

But, of course, none of that is happening. Americans aren’t dying in the streets in some modern version of the Antonine Plague or Plague of Justinian, hospitals aren’t full to the brim with Chinese flu-stricken patients, and hospitals certainly aren’t doing everything in their power to hold onto trained staff members.

In fact, many hospitals are firing unvaxxed staff members; the latest one to do so is the world-famous Mayo Clinic, formerly one of the best hospitals in the US, which just fired hundred of its highly-trained staff members for not getting the jab. As the Star Tribune reports:

About 700 workers are losing their jobs at Mayo Clinic for failing to comply with a vaccine mandate policy at the Rochester-based health system.

Employees had until Monday to either receive their first shots or obtain an exemption for medical or religious reasons. Mayo said it granted the majority of exemption requests.

The clinic introduced its policy last year, saying it was necessary to provide the safest possible environment at Mayo, which treats patients who come from around the world for complex care.

Speaking about the policy and mass firings in a statement, Mayo Clinic said in a statement that:

“While final numbers are still not available, nearly 99% of staff across all Mayo Clinic locations have complied with the required vaccination program, meaning they have been vaccinated or have received medical or religious exemptions.

This means that approximately 1% of staff across all locations will be released from employment as a result of the required vaccination program. This is comparable to what other health care organizations have experienced in implementing similar vaccine requirement programs.

While Mayo Clinic is saddened to lose valuable employees, we need to take all steps necessary to keep our patients, workforce, visitors and communities safe. If individuals released from employment choose to get vaccinated at a later date, the opportunity exists for them to apply and return to Mayo Clinic for future job openings.

Based on science and data, it’s clear that vaccination keeps people out of the hospital and saves lives. That’s true for everyone in our communities — and it’s especially true for the many patients with serious or complex diseases who seek care at Mayo Clinic each day.”

While 1% sounds small, as is obviously the clinic’s goal in referring to those fired as a percentage rather than the actual number of employees fired, it’s important to remember that the clinic employs thousands of people. Thus, firing 1% of them means that hundreds upon hundreds were just let go for refusing the Fauci ouchie.

Furthermore, it’s not just the Mayo Clinic that’s firing unvaxxed staff. Other hospitals are too. As the Daily Wire reports:

Mayo Clinic follows several large health systems in forcing out employees who did not receive a vaccine or an approved exemption. Minnesota-based Allina Health laid off 53 staff in December over its vaccination policy. South Dakota-based Sanford Health suspended 82 employees in November over their lack of vaccination or an approved exemption.

So, if you get sick and a hospital is too overwhelmed to see you, just remember that that very well could be because it fired so many of its staff for not wanting to get the jab.
