Illinois Bill Would Strip Unvaxxed of Health Insurance

The vaccine pushers are now so angry with those that insist on remaining unvaxxed that now they’re trying to strip the unvaccinated of health insurance.

In Illinois, the leftist legislature has put forward a bill that would mean health insurers no longer have to cover unvaccinated people who get Covid, which would force people to pay their medical bills without insurance if they get sick and aren’t vaccinated.

According to The Chicago Sun Times:

Unvaccinated Illinoisans would have to pay for their health care expenses — including hospital bills — out of pocket if they contract COVID-19 under legislation filed Monday in the Illinois House.

State Rep. Jonathan Carroll’s bill is likely to face legal challenges and political pushback, but the Northbrook Democrat downplayed those concerns, saying it all boils down to frustration between those who have “been following the science and … trying to do the right thing” and those who are “choosing not to get vaccinated, who are able to, for whatever they choose.”

“I think it’s time that we say ‘You choose not to get vaccinated, then you’re also going to assume the risk that if you do catch COVID, and you get sick, the responsibility is on you,’” Carroll said.

His bill would radically rewrite the Illinois insurance code, allowing insurers to force people to pay their medical bills out of pocket if they get covid and aren’t vaxxed, which Carrol justified by calling the Covid pandemic a “pandemic of the unvaccinated.”

He went on to elaborate, saying that the bill would not affect those that remain unvaccinated for health reasons. As he left religion unmentioned in his comments, the bill would presumably still apply to those that choose to remain unvaccinated for religious reasons.

So, the bill would protect a small number of people that can’t get the vaccine, but would punish those that choose to exercise personal choice and avoid it.

However, it would not go into effect until January 1st, 2023, so it’s unclear if the bill is anything other than posturing.

Furthermore, the legality of the bill is unclear, as the Affordable Care Act outlaws booting people from insurance rolls because of a new test result, which would theoretically include getting a Covid test result. So, the bill could certainly be struck down if it ever makes it through the legislature.

But still, the idea and provisions are frightening, as it shows that Democrats are now attempting to punish people merely for exercising their right to choose.

Yet worse, the vaccination standard it is based on could be changed at the snap of a bureaucrats fingers to require anything, such as another booster, as Off-Guardian notes:

The vaccinated should take no comfort from this, because their vaccinated status is entirely temporary, and subject to rules that could change on a whim.

Any “double jabbed” who misses a booster, or got a brand of vaccine that was subsequently unapproved or discontinued, or wasn’t updated for the latest variant, could suddenly find themselves one of the “unvaccinated” underclass.
