Rocker and American Idol star Chris Daughtry has canceled his recent tour after his stepdaughter Hannah was found dead in her Nashville apartment. Chris Daughtry rose to fame back in 2006 after appearing on American Idol.
There is a lot of suspicion swirling around Hannah Price’s death. It is still not clear what caused the death of the 25-year-old, but her final years were filled with a lot of trouble.
Hannah’s biological father committed suicide. Hannah was shot in the face during a gang attack. And she was arrested about 7 months ago in a “road rage” incident.
Daughtry and his band were set to play the sixth show of their “Dearly Beloved Tour,” and is the band’s sixth album together.
The New York Post reported on the story: “My first born,” mom Deanna Daughtry wrote on Instagram. “I love you endlessly Hannah. Our family would like to thank you all for the outpouring of love as we grieve the loss of our daughter Hannah. We are awaiting the autopsy results to determine how Hannah sustained the injuries that caused her death. Our hearts are broken.”
The mom posted a slideshow of photos of her daughter and a burning candle after her death.
Chris Daughtry postponed his concert tour to fly home to Nashville to be with his family. He re-posted his wife’s candle photo on his Instagram page.
Hannah Price’s biological father, Randall Scott Price, committed suicide in March 2018.
About eight months later, Hannah and a roommate were apparently caught up in a run-in with gang members in Humboldt, Tenn. Hannah was shot in the face, underwent surgery and had to be fitted with a prosthetic eye, according to her social media and news reports.
The incident involved a teenager who was trying to join the Crips. Price wrote on Facebook that she was forced to intervene when her roommate took her somewhere frequented by gang members, who apparently tried to kill him. Hannah wrote online that she had been trying to “save a friend” when she was shot.
Hannah recently posted a meme online that read: “All my jokes are cries for help.”
Back in April, she wrote, “I am very, very alone.”
So sad. We pray for Chris and his family.
